Member of the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKU) board and onetime minister of transportation Gabriel Palacka will sue several Slovak media companies for libel.
Recently, several media have published information that Palacka, who resigned from his ministerial post in Mikuláš Dzurinda's previous cabinet due to corruption suspicions, is interested in a high EU position. The media have reported that he is heading to Brussels to take the post of Slovakia's representative to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In its official stance the SDKU called the reports on Palacka's ambitions "a slander campaign" and denied the reports. "Palacka is a free citizen and he can at any time apply for a job matching his qualifications," the SDKU stance reads.
