DISAGEEMENTS are emerging over whether there is room for any tax reductions in Slovakia in the near future, reported the daily SME.
Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš has restated his position that there is no room for a reduction in taxes in Slovakia.
That applies to all forms of tax, including payroll taxes.
Mikloš thinks the social insurer Sociálna poisťovňa’s budget is overly optimistic and may be difficult to meet.
However, Ministry of Labour Martin Danko spokesman claims that there is still space for reducing payroll taxes.
According to Danko, lower payroll taxes might help reduce financial tensions in Sociálna poisťovňa.
