The chairmen of the opposition SDKÚ, KDH, and SMK parties met on September 16 for the first time since April, the SITA newswire wrote.
SDKÚ chairman Mikuláš Dzurinda invited KDH chairman Pavol Hrušovský and SMK leader Pál Csáky to a meeting on how the opposition will fill the posts in the supervisory boards of the Slovak Land Fund (SPF) and the Healthcare Supervision Office (ÚDZS). Dzurinda wants the SMK and KDH to fill two posts on the SPF’s supervisory board, whose members should be appointed by parliament this week. The SDKÚ will get one seat on the ÚDZS supervisory board.
Dzurinda was reluctant to say whom the SDKÚ will nominate. His party is asking for the departure of Public Procurement Office (ÚVO) chairman Béla Angyal from the post. Dzurinda proposed that Csáky withdraw Angyal, since Prime Minister Robert Fico blames him for the scandals at the ÚVO, such as the tender for the selection of the electronic toll collection system provider, the price of which increased by Sk6.5 billion (€215.8 million). According to Dzurinda, four well-known companies were excluded from the tender so that a company run by Smer sponsors could win. SITA
