The publishing group Media Group Rheinische Post – the publisher of the Czech newspaper Mladá fronta DNES – has become one of the shareholders of the publishing house Petit Press which publishes the Sme daily, regional newspapers, weekly newspapers such as The Slovak Spectator, a news internet server and other media products.
Petit Press stated that the German publisher will own 50 percent of the Petit Press shares after the new share purchase is approved by the Slovak Anti-Monopoly Office. The previous second shareholder, Prvá slovenská investičná skupina, remains, the SITA wrote.
Media Group Rheinische Post owns the media group MAFRA in the Czech Republic which publishes the Mladá fronta DNES daily and others. SITA
