THE POLICE on April 16 swooped on a Bratislava-based gang of pimps, which was part of the third-largest underworld group operating in the Slovak capital, according to police vice president Jaroslav Spišiak.
He said the gang set up and ran a call-girl business. The women were confined to apartments, beaten, and forced to take drugs.
The police conducted five house searches and seized nine guns, heroin, and special drug-weighing scales. Six gang members were charged and five were detained.
