Police say five murders averted

The Office for the Fight Against Organised Crime has recently managed to save five lives, Police Corps President Jaroslav Spišiak told a press conference on Thursday, November 25.

The Office for the Fight Against Organised Crime has recently managed to save five lives, Police Corps President Jaroslav Spišiak told a press conference on Thursday, November 25.

In the first case, the police chief said, a 37-year-old woman hired a hitman to kill her 60-year-old mother with the aim of inheriting her flat. Both women live in Trenčín Region.

Police also thwarted a long-running plan to murder four people, Spišiak said. A man known to be involved in a shooting incident at the Las Vegas pub in Bratislava ordered the killing of four people in order to gain property. Spišiak said that two individuals from the Balkans region and one Slovak have been charged with conspiracy to murder, the TASR newswire reported.
