Slovaks last year spent an average of €447 in e-shops, €34 more than in 2010, the heureka.sk and heureka.cz websites determined via a poll. These two portals compare thousands of internet shops and their goods and prices. The poll was conducted at the beginning of this year with 2,000 respondents.
“Higher spending in e-shops are proof of the growing interest of Slovaks in online shopping, which might offer the comfort of one’s home and low prices, as well as a wide offer,” said Kamil Demuth, manager of the heureka.sk site to the SITA newswire.
The most popular goods sold via e-commerce in 2011 were clothing, accessories and shoes, books, household appliances, PCs, TVs, and videos, followed by cosmetics, perfumes, mobile phones and PDA appliances.
