The survey was carried out between April 11-18 and canvassed the views of 1,417 respondents. As regards voter turnout, 20 percent of the respondents said that they would not go to the polls, while another 25 percent claimed that they were unable to decide or did not want to give an answer as to their participation, the TASR newswire reported on April 23.
Smer would have been followed by Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) which reached 10.5 percent. Next came the Sieť party on 10.1 percent, Most-Híd on 8.7 percent, Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) on 7.2 percent, Party of Hungarian Community (SMK) on 5.2 percent and SNS on 6.8 percent.
Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) with 4 percent, NOVA with 2.5 percent and Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) with 2.4 percent all would miss the 5 percent threshold for reaching parliament.
The polling was conduction before the government intervened in the recent restructuring of the Váhostav-SK construction company.
