PRESIDENT Rudolf Schuster turned 70 on January 4 but the top state official did not hold any spectacular celebrations.
He had already celebrated the anniversary with his presidential office staff before the Christmas holidays.
On January 4, Schuster celebrated with his family, though he accepted congratulations from one foreign official - his friend the Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma, the Slovak daily SME wrote.
Kuchma, who, according to Schuster, could not come to Slovakia personally, sent a special delegation to congratulate the president. The Ukrainians brought an unusual gift for Schuster - a Ukrainian-made intercontinental ballistic rocket of the SS-24 Scalpel type. The rocket will be exhibited in the Košice museum of aviation.
