THE PREŠOV regional government (PSK) has announced a new poll in which citizens of the region can suggest and vote for their favourite gastronomic specialties from this part of Slovakia. PSK spokesperson Veronika Fitzeková told the TASR newswire that suggestions and recipes for the ‘Traditional Taste of the Prešov Region’ should be sent by e-mail to the address published on the office’s website before the end of May 2009.
Recently, the regional government held a similar poll in which citizens chose ‘The Seven Wonders of the Prešov Region’ from among 20 nominated cultural and natural places of interest.
“Due to quite a great interest we decided to prepare a similar event that would culminate in publication of a regional cookbook,” Fitzeková said.
After the recipes and suggestions have been collected, internet voting will launch on June 1.
The final vote count will be made in October.
