In answer to Mr [Slovak chief EU negotiator Ján] Figeľ, who says the Beneš Decrees were applied "only against enemies of the state" - which state is he referring to? Czechoslovakia? In that case Slovaks are also guilty. They proclaimed independence on March 14, 1939.
Or Figeľ's statement that "40,000 Hungarians were sent to Bohemia" - sent? They were deported by the Czechoslovak army, and were deprived of their property on ethnic criteria!
Hungary and Slovakia did a "population exchange"? - the Slovaks from Hungary were volunteers, but the Hungarians from Slovakia were obliged to go.
The Slovak parliament has never expressed any regret for the fate of the country's Hungarians, who are still citizens of Slovakia. Why not?
