The opposition SDKÚ party of former prime minister Mikuláš Dzurinda announced on June 25 that it has published a list of what it calls the 32 most scandalous cases under the current ruling coalition that the part says has deprived the state of over Sk80 billion (more than €2.65 billion) on a website, www.ukradli.sk.
At the news coference Dzurinda told the SITA newswire that Prime Minister Robert Fico often accuses the opposition of economic treason. But the SDKÚ leader argued that if this term could be currently used than it would apply precisely to the waste of the current government.
Dzurinda added that this money could have been spent for social programs, thermal insulation of buildings, and assistance to families or could have been spent in incentives to stimulate the economy at the time of the economic downturn. SITA
