ECONOMY Minister Pavol Rusko said that talks concerning the sale of Slovenske elektrarne, Slovakia’s power utility, will be delayed.

Rusko said it was questionable whether the talks would continue with Enel (the Italian company that came out on top of the bidding wars) or whether a different company would be invited to join the privatisation talks, the SME daily wrote.

The Czech company CEZ says it is ready to enter talks with the Slovak state at any time. The privitisation committee evaluated CEZ as second to Enel in the tender for a 66-percent stake in Slovenske elektrarne.

Next week, Rusko will inform the government on his proposed steps in the SE privatisation.
