Ship yard SLKB sent almost half of its 900 workers home yesterday on layoff until February 17, when management will decide on their future; the ship maker blamed the decision on shortage of money, not knowing that export support bank Eximbank had the same day approved a loan to SLKB of 9.2 million euros.
