People in Slovakia should prepare for another heatwave. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) has issued weather warnings against heat for both August 9 and 10.
The first-level warning was issued for the southern districts of the Bratislava, Trnava and Nitra Regions. It will be put in place between 14:00 and 18:00.
“High temperature represents a potential danger to human health, physical activity and fire-making,” SHMÚ wrote on their website.
August 10 will be even hotter, with second-level warnings being issued for the southern districts of the Bratislava, Trnava and Nitra Regions, where the temperature may be as high as 35 degrees Celsius, and first-level warnings for districts in the Banská Bystrica, Trenčín and Košice Regions, where the temperature may be as high as 35 degrees Celsius. The warnings will be in place between 14:00 and 17:00.
