In response to information about a Russian spy leading the Russian airline Aeroflot's Bratislava branch, the Slovak Intelligence Service has confirmed that it knew about Sergej Michaljlovic Miagkich's links to Russian counterintelligence, the Slovak daily Národná obroda wrote.
Over the past couple years Miagkich led the Bratislava branch of Aeroflot.
According to the daily, the spy was also a gambler who was sentenced to five years in prison in Moscow for fraud involving a sum of $61,000 (€49,565).
Reportedly, the spy mismanaged the Bratislava office and spent the $61,000 in the casinos of Bratislava and Prague.
