THE SLOVAK project Ovce.sk (sheeplive.eu) was awarded a prize at the World Summit Award (WSA) competition in the category of e-Inclusion and Empowerment.
The project was evaluated as one of the most innovative, technologically advance, and best designed products in the area of digital content in the world, the TASR newswire reported.
“What mattered in the defence of the project was that the aim of the project - the protection of children - is disseminated through the Internet, television, book publications and lectures at schools,” the project author Miroslav Drobny said as quoted by TASR, adding that ovce.sk is the first Slovak project to win in this competition.
The project consists of three main parts – a children’s animated TV series about the safe use of the Internet, which are broadcast by the public-service media and sold on DVDs, an International internet portal and children’s books. It also comprises instructional manuals for parents and teachers.
