Four activists disrupted a session of the Parliament on Thursday, February 11, displaying a banner from the House's gallery and scattering paper confetti on legislators voting below, the TASR newswire was told. The civic initiative called 'A Stop to Arrogance in Politics', sported a banner reading “Money is the only thing you're interested in”.
“We meant to express our civic attitude to how politicians in Slovakia are motivated in their activities. Their only motivation is money, nothing else,” Adam Kurta, one of the foursome, told journalists.
“Our point was also to bring attention to the general arrogance with which politicians treat the people of this country,” he added. A security guard confiscated the banner, but police were not called and the protestors were not detained in any way, TASR reported. TASR
