SLOVAK psychologists and managers of pedagogical-psychological institutes warned that the psychic health of many Slovak children is under threat due to poverty and stress in families, daily SME wrote.
The National Report on Youth prepared by the Education Ministry also confirmed the negative situation suggesting that 30 percent of children up to the age of 15 are exposed to poverty.
Psychologist Miron Zelina of the Comenius University's Psychology Department says that depression might become pandemics of the nation.
According to Jarmila Gajdošová of theRegional Pedagogical-Psychological Counseling Office in Bratislava, 15 percent of children up to the age of 18 suffer from psychological problems.
