The mood in Slovak economy has considerably improved, said the Slovak Statistics Office on July 29 as its confidence indicator in Slovakia's industry continued rising for the seventh month, going up by five points to minus 8.3 points. Over the past two months, the indicator jumped eighteen points and its level in July was higher than in October of last year, when the significant deterioration of indicators started, the SITA newswire reported.
Industrial output reported a growing tendency with its indicator growing by 23 points to negative nineteen points, SITA wrote. The outlook of manufacturers of transport means, as well as textile and clothing producers positively influenced the development. Electricity, natural gas and water producers, along with footwear producers and wood processors view the situation on the market as negative.
Expectations of overall demand for industrial output grew by one point from June to be at 40 points in July. In spite of this, no sector of industry reported increase in demand. The indicator of foreign demand grew by eighteen points to minus 34 points in June. Only the manufacturers of transportation equipment expect growth in demand.
The employment outlook for the next three months slipped by two points compared to the previous month. Only the sector of transport equipment production expects growth of employment. SITA
