A SURVEY by Eurostat, the EU's Statistical Office, shows that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Slovakia fell to 11 percent in January, down 0.8 percent from December 2006.
Slovakia still reports the second highest unemployment rate in the EU after Poland, who has an unemployment rate of 12.6 percent, the Hospodárske Noviny daily wrote.
Nevertheless, Slovakia is among the countries that are seeing the most significant annual drop in unemployment rate in the EU. In January 2006 Slovakia's jobless rate was at 14.5 percent.
