Font size: A - | A +

Slovakia has both one of the lowest minimum wages in the European Union and one of the lowest number of minimum wage workers.

As published on June 18 by the European Statistics Office (EUROSTAT), the minimum wage in Slovakia amounts to €217 a month, which is the fifth lowest in the EU after Bulgaria (€92), Romania (€114), Latvia (€172), and Lithuania (€174). EUROSTAT arrived at the findings by comparing the data for January 2007 from 20 EU-member states that have a minimum wage set by law.
