THE OPPOSITION party Smer has set up a shadow cabinet led by the party's chairman, Robert Fico.
Smer's shadow cabinet has 18 ministers, as opposed to the 15 cabinet members in the current government.
The plan to increase the number of ministries comes as a surprise because, ahead of the 2002 national elections, Smer criticised the previous Mikuláš Dzurinda cabinet over what it then dubbed a high number of ministries.
New sectors in Smer's shadow cabinet include energy, regional development and Euro funds, and public administration ministries. Another proposed new sector is the ministry of strategic development and IT.
