Smer is still the strongest party on the scene, Progressive Slovakia and Spolu lost some support, the far-right party remains in the double digits and the former president's emerging party would barely make it to the parliament.
The results of the Focus polling agency poll from the first week of August has provided the latest update on the distribution of forces on the Slovak political scene. Published on August 9, the poll also reflects the suspicions against the ruling Smer and its nominees that emerged from the forged promissory notes trial, as well as the communication of Progressive Slovakia leader Michal Truban about his marijuana history. The poll was conducted on a representative sample of 1,020 respondents.
"The poll results do not show any significant shifts," Focus director Martin Slosiarik told the SITA newswire. "Still, if we look at which parties made the biggest increase or decrease, slightly more votes went to Smer, KDH and OLaNO, all of them rather conservative-leaning parties."
