SMK taking Slota to court over anti-Hungarian statements

The ethnic-Hungarian SMK party contacted the Prosecutor General's Office on October 14 to initiate a criminal prosecution against Slovak National Party (SNS) chairman Ján Slota over his "defamatory statements" concerning Hungarians, SMK spokesperson Eva Dunajská confirmed for the TASR on October 15.

But SNS caucus leader Rafael Rafaj said that he wouldn't pay much attention to SMK's initiative and claimed that SMK was only trying to drum up some political capital.

"It's a subjective view strengthened by the SMK's specific political intentions,” he said. TASR
