Solana told reporters in Bratislava on Tuesday, June 30, that he would address the event on the subject of how to promote the European Union as a global player.

He praised Slovakia’s work ahead of joining the EU and the eurozone, as well as the activity of Slovakia’s current foreign minister, Miroslav Lajčák, in his previous post as EU High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lajčák, who also met Solana, told the TASR newswire that Solana is an expert on the topics which will be discussed at the conference.
