SLOVAKIA'S state budget reported a surplus of Sk2.8 billion (€72 million) for the first quarter of 2005, which is Sk1.625 billion (€40 million) more than at the same time in 2004, the Finance Ministry announced April 1.
Revenues decreased by Sk1.899 billion (€50 million) year-on-year to stand at Sk65.046 billion (€1.66 billion) at the end of March. This was 25.3 percent of the full-year target. Expenditure fell by Sk3.524 billion (€90 million) to Sk62.247 billion (€1.59 billion) at the end of March, the TASR news agency reported.
