The public-finance deficit decreased slightly in July to €2.239 billion, compared to €2.326 billion recorded in June, the Finance Ministry announced on Wednesday, August 1. In the same period of last year, public finances posted a deficit of €1.675 billion.
State-budget incomes in July reached €6.287 billion, which represents a year-on-year drop of 4.3 percent, the TASR newswire wrote. The figure represents 46.1 percent of the sum planned for the whole of 2012. Expenditures went up by 3.4 percent year-on-year to €8.526 billion, which represents 49.3 percent of the amount foreseen for the whole year of €17.3 billion.
