The Slovak Television (STV) Council remained without a chair after its Tuesday, October 26, meeting, the SITA newswire reported.

Its members confirmed Richard Herrgott as the first vice-chair but his tenure ends on October 28. Elected by nine Council members in a secret ballot, Herrgott was the only candidate at the meeting of the Council to accept his nomination, the SITA newswire wrote. Behind the failure to select the head of the council at its midweek session was the lack of interest of the proposed candidates. Individual council members proposed Marián Tkáčik, Andrej Miklánek and Pavol Holeštiak to the post, yet none of the three nominees accepted the nomination. Former Council chairman Martin Kákoš suggested to postpone the election until the next meeting of the Council, as two out of fifteen Council members were not present.
