South Korean carmaker Hyundai will most probably build its plant in Slovakia, public service television STV reported during its Tuesday prime time news, referring to an anonymous source.

According to STV, Slovakia has beat out Poland for a $1.5-billion investment into a factory that will produce cars of Hyundai's sister company, Kia.

Hyundai was expected to choose between Slovakia and Poland in February.

However, Economy Minister Pavol Rusko denied the information, saying that nothing has been decided yet and that the process is only now reaching its final stage.

According to STV, Hyundai's top management plans a visit to Slovakia on February 15. So far, a six-member inspection team of lower-ranking employees have visited Slovakia and reportedly held talks with the director general of Slovnaft refinery.
