“They feel that they have been fooled and that after each proposal of the state budget teachers are fooled again therefore we wanted to symbolically express this,” protest organiser Branislav Kočan said, as quoted by TASR.
Teachers complain that even government and Education Minister Juraj Draxler has formally approved a requirement for teachers to receive a salary adequate to value of their work but has done nothing to improve their situation, TASR wrote.

The teachers were protesting calmly, carrying boards with slogans like “you don’t know how to fulfill your promises, off with you” or “Where have you left teachers”.
Bratislava teachers have also launched a petition supporting requirements formulated in an appeal of the Slovak Chamber of teachers to the government. Education Minister Juraj Draxler said that the initiative is wrongly timed as it comes after the collective bargaining of employees of the state administration.
