The state might expropriate land for Trnava bypass

The state might expropriate the land of some property owners near Trnava in order to allow construction of the Trnava road bypass to go ahead. The project is behind schedule due to what the state claims is the unwarranted financial demands of some landowners for compensation.

In the years to come, a 4.5-kilometre bypass should be built to send traffic to to the Záhorie region in the far west of Slovakia. The Sk1.28 billion project has rapidly taken on more realistic dimensions following the arrival in the Trnava area of investors such as PSA Peugeot Citroen, Sony and Johns Manville.
