Trade deficit could be record, warns NBS

The Slovak central bank reported that the current account of the balance of payments had ended the first half of 2001 in deficit of 37.9 billion crowns, 31.1 billion higher than the same period last year, wrote the daily paper Národná obroda. The bank has warned Slovakia could see a record trade deficit this year.
