“We received the letter on Thursday, January 21 and on Friday, January 22 we sent a response in which we reacted in terms of changes made and the preparation of regulations. We’ve proposed a possible meeting so we can respond to further incentives,” said Jurikovič to TASR.

According to Jaroslav Polaček from UNAS, the organisation has not received the ministry’s letter yet. The truckers will discuss further steps when it arrives.

“We don't have a problem with meeting,” said Polaček. UNAS called on the Transport Ministry to mothball the collection of electronic road tolls until the end of April 2010 and to amend the system of toll collection so that users would only pay for fully-traversed sections of tolled motorways and other roads.
