Transport Ministry agrees to prolong transit ticketing system until end of 2011

Foreign road hauliers will be able to continue using transit tickets instead of paying electronic tolls until the end of 2011. A Transport Ministry regulation prolonging the validity of so-called transit ticketing from September until December 31, 2011, will shortly come into force, the SITA newswire reported.

Operators of vehicles who would otherwise have to pay e-tolls will hence still be able to buy tickets to use twelve transit routes across Slovakia, e-toll system operator SkyToll said, as reported by SITA.
