PRELIMINARY figures from the Labour Ministry suggested that the unemployment rate in December 2003 grew slightly to 15.6 percent, up by 1.4 compared to the previous month.
The daily Pravda wrote that there were 453,282 unemployed people in Slovakia in December, some 33,000 more than in November.
Despite the figure’s growth between the two months, compared to the number of unemployed one year ago the figures show a decrease by 50,795 people.
