Bratislava will host candlelight vigil
ON THE occasion of the International Migrants Day, which falls on December 18, a candlelight vigil for migrants who died or went missing when trying to escape to another country will be held in Bratislava.

Schengen will not shrink
THE COUNCIL of the European Union for Internal Affairs and Justice held a meeting in Brussels on November 20, the first since the November 13 attacks. There, the Netherlands refuted the news published earlier by media about the intent to create a “mini-Schengen” which would exclude some current members, e.g. Slovakia.
Interior Ministry rejects idea of mini-Schengen
Eastern European countries including Slovakia could be kicked out of the Schengen Zone, according to a proposal which was presented on November 19 at the EU interior ministers meeting, the Daily Mail reported on November 18. The Slovak Interior Ministry denies the existence of such a plan.

A STRINGENT security regime has been put in place in Slovakia since the terror attacks in Paris, which has resulted in the arrests of some 20 people who were residing in Slovakia illegally, the TASR newswire reported on November 19.
