Slovakia loses against Germany on shootouts

The Slovak national hockey team lost in their fourth match at the IIHF World Championships 2017.

The Slovak national hockey team lost the game in the IIHF World Championships 2017 against Germany on shootouts 2:3.

Slovak goals were scored by Tomáš Matoušek and one by Libor Hudáček. Patrick Reimer and Yasin Ehliz scored for Germany.

Slovakia now has 4 points in the preliminary round.

The Slovaks are playing in group A of the preliminary round, with the matches being held in Cologne, Germany. They will face teams from Italy, Latvia, Denmark, Germany, Russia, the USA and Sweden.

Based on current IIHF World Rankings Slovakia is currently in 7th position while Germany ranks 9th.
