Piano recital Franz Liszt: 12 Études d'exécution transcendante
Tuesday, September 17, at 18:00 in the Austrian Cultural Forum (Hodžovo námestie 1/A).
Franz Liszt's Études d'exécution transcendante are rarely performed as a complete cycle. They are considered one of the most challenging works of piano composition: few pianists dare to play all 12 etudes in a concert.
Adela Liculescu made a specialism of this cycle during her doctoral studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. As part of her artistic research, she showed that virtuosity is by no means limited to the technical and mechanical side, but is associated with a high degree of expressiveness as well. These ideas are also reflected in her interpretation of Liszt's compositions.
