Tourists and citizens of Nitra have the chance to use a carriage with a team of horses during the summer. The scenic ride will take place in July and August every Saturday at 10:00, 13:00 and 16:00.

The teamster Pavol Kitaš came up with the idea last year and it became an official touristic attraction offered by the Nitra Touristic Information Centre this year.

The horses Monty and Pejo pull the carriage. They weigh about 880 to 960 kilograms and together they can pull more than 3,200 kilograms of load. The britzka has an iron construction and it is designed for riding on mountain routes.

The price for a one hour ride with a commentary about routes, sights and horses is 30 euros for the six-person carriage. Tourists will learn information about Zoborské hills, Svorad’s cave, the Zobor monastery and Hradisko Zobor.

Tourists will pay 60 euros for a two-hour ride to Pyramida in Zobor, meaning 10 euros per person. The ride begins near Detviansky cross at the car park on Kláštorská street.
