Lookout train travels through scenic Banská Štiavnica

It will take tourists to all of the town's significant monuments.

Years ago, a legendary steam train transported people and cargo to Banská Štiavnica, previously known as Štiavnická Anča. The train is no longer in operation, but for tourists and citizens of Banská Štiavnica, a touristic train with the same name will ride through town.

“Our Štiavnická Anča will take visitors to the most famous and most-visited monuments of Banská Štiavnica,” said operator of the attraction, Milan Kabina, as quoted by the TASR newswire.

The train will travel through natural surroundings between Trojičné Square and Banské museum. From there, it will cruise around New Castle through the historic centre and stop under the hill of the calvary. Afterwards, it will return to Trojičné square.
