Morning
Take a walk in the arboretum (arborétum) located in the town centre, where you will find blossoming rhododendron bushes and various trees collected from all around the world.

Afternoon
From the arboretum go north and visit the ruins of the Liptovský Hrádok Castle. (Unfortunately, the mansion that houses the ethnological museum is closed due to reconstruction).
Then, by car or local bus from the Liptovský Hrádok train station, travel 5 kilometres northeast to the village of Pribylina. The open-air museum is the only one in Slovakia that features the dwellings of noble families alongside the houses of the poor. The houses were moved there from what is now the bottom of the Liptovská Mara reservoir.
