Rosatom wants guaranteed price
IF THE construction of a new nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice begins, it will provide over 6,000 construction jobs. The Russian company Rosatom, which would like to build the new nuclear facility in cooperation with the state, also says the new plant could create 500 new jobs after it goes into operation, the Sme daily reported on November 27.
Fico meets Obama at White House
SLOVAKIA is ready to help with international efforts to eliminate chemical weapons in Syria, but it will not offer for those weapons to be dismantled on Slovak territory, Prime Minister Robert Fico told the press after his meeting with US President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in Washington on November 21.

Slota gets 16-month driving ban
THE ČADCA District Court has upheld the original verdict for Ján Slota, former chair of the Slovak National Party (SNS), punishing him with a €5,000 fine and a 16-month ban from driving. If Slota fails to pay the sum, he could spend three months in prison.
More than 7,000 e-shops
THE NUMBER of e-shops in Slovakia has exceeded 7,000. Compared with the previous year, the number of e-shops increased by more than one third, according to the statistics of the Heureka.sk portal, which compares goods offered in Slovak e-shops. Most of the new shops emerged in the sectors of clothing, electric appliances and perfumes, the TASR newswire wrote in October.
