Ministries transpose EU directives

THE ENVIRONMENT Ministry will be the busiest of Slovak ministries in transposing EU directives during the upcoming period of time. The Cabinet’s Office proposes that this ministry prepares transposition of 18 out of 37 directives of the European Parliament and the Council which were published in the Official Journal of the European Union between August 1, 2014 and January 31, 2014. The implementation of some directives has already been prepared, the SITA newswire wrote.

SLOVAK film director Dušan Hanák received the Award for Special Contribution to World Cinematography at the International Film Festival (IFF) in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia. The prize was awarded by the administration of the capital and by the Sofia IFF; so far, 27 filmmakers won, including names like Peter Greenaway, Volker Schlöndorf, Wim Wenders, Jiří Menzel and Nikita Michalkov.
