AWARDS for the 18th year of the prestigious national competition of construction in Slovakia, Construction of the Year 2012, were ceremonially distributed in Bratislava on November 15. The objective of the competition, which is organised by the Association for the Development of Slovakia’s Architecture and Construction Industry – ABF Slovakia, is to support the quality of complex execution of engineering works as an integral part of the integrated system of quality assurance procedures in the construction process and the construction industry, the website of the competition states.
In this annual event there were 21 structures competing for the title “Construction of the Year 2012”.
The main “Construction of the Year 2012” award went to the new offices of the GasOil Engineering company, a brand new construction in Bratislava designed by architect Peter Abonyi
Other awards won in the competition were:
Award of the Association of Construction Entrepreneurs of Slovakia
-Westend Square, a brand new office building in Bratislava
Award of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Faculty of Civil Engineering
-BSP, a brand new office building in Bratislava Award of Eurostav publishing house
-The seat of GasOil Engineering in Bratislava Award of the Slovak Chamber of Civil Engineers
-A small hydropower station Dobrohošť, a brand new construction in the Dunajská Streda region Award of ABF Slovakia
-IPP Park Hrad, construction of an underground parking place near the Bratislava castle. Award of the Building Testing and Research Institute
-VIP Handling, a brand new construction at M. R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava Award of Prvá Stavebná Sporiteľna housing savings construction bank
-Nová Mýtna, a brand new multifunctional building in Bratislava
