THE INTERNATIONAL Women's Club, in cooperation with the People in Peril Association (Človek v Ohrození), has organized a fundraising event to support the relief effort in South East Asia, following the devastating earthquake and tsunami of December 26, 2004.
On February 10, from 18:00 until closing, participating restaurants will be donating a portion of each diner's bill. The money will benefit the tsunami victims via People in Peril.
Participating restaurants include Romeo and Giulietta, AuCafe, Kriváň, Leberfinger, MezzoMezzo, Tempus Fugit, Chez David, Tokyo, Cafe de Zwaan, Brasserie at the Opera, Ludwig, Peoples Lounge, and Paparazzi. For more information and the complete list, contact the Women's Club at charity@iwc.sk.
People in Peril, which is based in Bratislava, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in May 1999 in response to the war in Kosovo. At that time, a group of Slovak journalists, inspired by the humanitarian activities of a similar Czech organization, established the People in Peril Association.
The organization's primary mission is to provide humanitarian and developmental assistance by gaining solidarity and support from the Slovak public towards people who suffer as a result of conflicts, disasters and authoritarian regimes all around the world.
