Fermas is one of four producers of amino-acid medicine

Fermas Ltd., Slovenská Ľupča (an amino-acid producer), is a joint venture of the German pharmaceutical producer Degussa and Biotika Slovenská _upŹa. In the past three years, it saw total investments worth 1.2 billion Sk, which went mainly into new technologies, but also for infrastructure and human resources. Fermas is one of four world producers of L-Treonín amino-acid and produces the finest L-Lyzín amino-acid in the world. This year, Fermas will have 700 million Sk in sales, and although it had anticipated a loss, it will end up with a profit.
