THE CITY of Košice wants to sell buildings and plots on the former premises of the Casspos machine factory through a public auction, or public tender. The city has set the auction price at Sk180.5 million (€5.992 million), the SITA newswire wrote.
City representatives approved the sale by a resolution at a city council session at the end of June but did not set a deadline by which the premises should be sold. It will be one of the most important property sales in the city this year.
The premises are located in the district of Košice-Šaca, in an industrial zone directly connected to the premises of U.S. Steel Košice. According to a statement from the Office of Chief Architect of the City of Košice, the locality has technological infrastructure and is intended for production, stores, etc.
The premises of Casspos consist of 11 buildings and plots with an area of 142,420 square metres. The premises are currently administered by the Administration of the Property of the City of Košice (SMMK) which rents it to six lessors.
The City of Košice is registering companies’ bids to buy only plots, or parts of plots. But the Administration of the Property of the City of Košice has said it would prefer to see the property sold as one lot.
