Makyta, a ladies' clothing manufacturer located in the north-central Slovak town of Púchov, estimates that it will reel in revenues of 1.1 billion Sk this year, company officials said. While more than 90 percent of Makyta's production is ready-made women's' wear, it also produces car seat-covers for Audi and BMW. The company also exports 85 percent of its production abroad, primarily to the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Austria.
In addition to its production, Makyta spent 80 million Sk to bring on-line a new boiler for its plant in Bytča, open a wholesale store in Bratislava and purchase new technology for its cutting facility in Púchov. According to company management, production was fully backed by sales in 1996, and its finished goods was significantly reduced.
