Nearly 24,000 foreigners work in Slovakia

MORE than 23,600 foreigners were working in Slovakia in the end of September.

The highest number are from Romania, with labour offices registering more than 5,800 of them working in the country. Second come Poles (3,100), followed by Czechs (3,000) and Hungarians (2,600), according to the Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family.

Every third foreigner worked in Bratislava. The five districts of the capital employed together more than 7,700 foreigners in the end of September. Second came Trnava district with 1,200 employed foreigners, followed by Čadca district (Žilina Region) with more than 1,000 foreigners.

On the other hand, only five foreign employees were working in Gelnica district (Košice Region) in the end of September, the SITA newswire wrote.
